| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Eruca maximacornuta is a senior subjective synonym of Bombyx regalis Fabricius, 1793, the type-species of Citheronia Hübner, [1819]. Neither the generic name Eruca nor the specific name maximacornuta has been used, so far as I can discover, since they were published over 200 years ago. Under Article 23(a-b) of the Code an application for the suppression of Eruca Edwards and of E. maximacornuta Edwards should be submitted to the Commission. See also: Citheronia Hübner, [1819]. |
