Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- * Noctua signum Fabricius, 1787, Mantissa Insect. 2: 154, is an incorrect subsequent spelling, repeated in 1794, Ent. Syst. 3 (2): 65. Hampson confused the latter reference with Syst. Ent., dated it 1775, and accepted * Signa Fabricius as the valid name. Coenophila Stephens, 1850, was proposed as a subgenus of Eugraphe Hübner [1821] 1816 and raised to generic level by Beck, 1991, Atalanta 22 (2-4) : 186. Poole (1989) included COENOPHILA stephens, 1850; AMMOGROTIS Staudinger, 1895; and HYPERNAENIA Hampson, 1904 as junior synonyms of EUGRAPHE Hübner, 1821. Poole (1989) included 13 species in the genus EUGRAPHE.
