Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- Eumelea was the spelling adopted by Warren, 1894, Novit. zool. 1: 375, as first reviser, from a multiple original spelling in which both Eumelea and * Eumelia were used. P. rosalia is dated from the wrapper of part 31, not from the title-page of volume 4 which is dated 1782. Parsons et al. (1999) included 28 species and 38 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus EUMELEA. EUMELEA was included within the subfamily GEOMETRIDAE: DESMOBATHRINAE by Minet & Scoble, in Kristensen (1999).
