Memo: Poole (1989) included FREDINA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999). Poole (1989) included only 1 species in the genus FREDINA. The type species of the genus Fredina, esmeralda Brandt, is listed as a junior synonym of Cardiosace chiaromontei Berio, 1936 by Hacker et al. 2001. Lepidoptera of Yemen Arab Republic, collected during three expeditions in 1996, 1998 and 2000. Esperiana 8: 623. (Martin Honey pers. comm.).
