| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior homonym of Halterophora Rondani, 1861, Dipterologiae Ital. Prodromus 4: 10 - Diptera. There is no objective replacement name, but H. bicolor is congeneric with Dioscore melanomma Warren, 1907, the type-species of Dioscore Warren, 1907. The latter is thus available as a subjective replacement name. See: DIOSCORE Warren, 1907. Parsons et al. (1999) included HALTEROPHORA Warren, 1896 as a junior synonym of DIOSCORE Warren, 1907. |
