Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- A junior homonym of Lemur Linnaeus, 1758, Syst. Nat. (Edn. 10) 1: 29, -Mammalia. The objective replacement name is Mormo Ochsenheimer, 1816. Incorrect type-species designation: Phalaena typica Linnaeus, 1758, a name not, originally included in Lemur, and not linked with one of the originally included names when cited (for * Lemuris) by Westwood, 1840, Synopsis Genera Br. Insects: 94. See: MORMO Ochsenheimer, 1816. Poole (1989) included LEMUR Hübner, 1822; MANIA Treitschke, 1825; and ACYRA Gistl, 1848 as junior synonyms of MORMO Ochsenheimer, 1816.
