Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- P. virbia is a junior subjective synonym of Noctua undata Fabricius, 1775, Syst. Ent. :600. Incorrect type-species designation: Mocis aurinia Geyer, 1832, a name not originally included in Mocis and not linked with one of the originally included nameswhen cited by Desmarest, 1857, in Chenu, Encycl. Hist. nat. Papillons nocturnes :133. See also: Cauninda Moore, [1885]. Poole (1989) included REMIGIA Guenée, 1852; PELAMIA Guenée, 1852; BARATHA Walker, 1865; and CAUNINDA Moore, 1885 as junior synonyms of MOCIS Hübner, 1823. Poole (1989) included 39 species in the genus MOCIS.
