Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- This genus was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but has since been transferred to the Noctuidae, where it was placed by Swinhoe, 1900, Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 2: 73. Poole (1989) included NEGETA in the subfamily NOCTUIDAE: CHLOEPHORINAE, which are included within the NOLIDAE: CHLOEPHORINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included NAGASENA Moore, 1882; NERTOBRIGA Walker, 1863; and DORANAGA Moore, as junior synonyms of NEGETA Walker, 1862. Poole (1989) included 27 species in the genus NEGETA.
