Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Neobourquina Köhler is here established with the agreement of Dr.P. Köhler (personal communication to D.S. Fletcher of 25.i.1978) for the concept of * Neobourquina Köhler, 1943, ibidem 12: 27. When the name was originally proposed in 1943 for two species, it was accompanied by a statememt `that purports to give characters differentiating the taxon' (Article 13(a)(i) but was not `accompanied by the definite fixiation of a type-species' (Article 13(b)). The term `gen.n., sp.n. or its exact equivalent' published as `Neobourquina bifasciata, gen. et. spec. nov.' in the legend to plate 6, figure 3, accompanying the original desription of the type-species in 1943, cannot be interpreted as the original designation of a type-species of a new nominal genus after 1930 (Article 68(a)(i)). Neobourquinia is unavailable from 1943, being a generic name published after 1930 that does not satisfy the provisions of the Code, Article 13 (b). The type-species Neobourquinia bifasciata is, however, available from 1943; under the Code, Article 17(3), a species-group name remains available even though the genus-group name with which it was first combined is invalid or unavailable.
