Memo: Neognopharmia Wehrli, 1951 was established to denote a subgenus of Gnopharmia Staudinger, 1892 and was raised to generic level by Hausmann, 1993, Bonner Zoologische Beitraege 44 (3-4) : 239. Fletcher (1979) stated:- Neognopharmia was originally proposed as a subgenus of Gnopharmia Staudinger, 1892, and was again so proposed by Wehrli, 1953, ibidem 4 (Suppl.): 568. Neognopharmia Wehrli 1951 was originally an unavailable name as no type-species was designated; Kocak, 1981, Priamus 1 (3) : 105. Parsons et al. (1999) included only 1 species in the genus NEOGNOPHARMIA.
