Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- The name Anycles probably originated from Boisduval but was published and made available by Walker. The name Amycles probably had the same origin and was made available by Herrich-Schäffer. Anycles was established as a subgenus of Euchromia Hübner, [1819], in the `Zygaenides'; it was placed in the Arctiidae as a valid genus by Butler, 1876, J. Linn. Soc. (Zool.) 12: 425; and was placed in the Syntomidae, now Ctenuchidae, by Hampson, 1898, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 1: 398.
