Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Palpidia was established in the Lithosiidae, now a subfamily of the Arctiidae, in a general communication Prof. J.G. Francemont has stated that Paplidia is a senior subjective synonym of Echinocampa Francemont, 1949. Palpidia now in the Noctuidae, Ophiderinae was not included in Nye, 1975, Generic Names Moths World 1. Poole (1989) included PALPIDIA in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included ECHINOCAMPA Franclemont, 1949 as a junior synonym of PALPIDIA Dyar, 1898. Poole (1989) included only 1 species in the genus PALPIDIA.
