Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- Apeira was proposed as the objective replacement name for Pericallia Stephens, 1828. Parsons et al. (1999) included CYPHOSEA Grote, 1896; and PERICALLIA Stephens, 1828 as junior synonyms of APEIRA Gistl, 1848. Parsons et al. (1999) included 10 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus APEIRA.
