Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Neither Dr D. Ferguson of the United States National Museum nor Dr J. Franclemont of Cornell University has been able to establish the precise dates of publication of the two Fitch works cited above. The sequence adopted in this catalogue follows that used by Franclemont, 1973, ibidem 20 (1): 33, 38. Planosa was established with two originally included nominal species, Planosa laricis Fitch, 1856, and Phalaena velleda Stoll, 1791.
