Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Only included species: Noctua malvae Hübner, [1808]. Hemming, 1937, Hübner 2: 146 considered that Hübner's genus was distinct from Acontia Ochsenheimer, 1816. Neave, 1939, Nomencl. zool. 1: 38 cited both. As N. malvae was the first of the species originally included in Acontia Ochsenheimer, 1816, - Lepid., Noctuidae, it is evident that Hübner is not to be regarded, under the present Code, as proposing a new monotypic genus. See: XANTHODES Guenée, 1852.
