Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- A lectotype of the type-species was designated by Swinhoe, 1892, Cat. east. and Aust. Lepid. Heterocera Colln Oxf. Univ. Mus. 1: 224. Pterolocera was established in the Liparidae, now Lymantriidae; it was placed in the Lasiocampidae by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 807. Turner, 1904, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1904: 478, 479, placed Pterolocera in the Lymantriidae, subfamily Anthelinae and subsequently raised Anthelinae to family level in 1920, ibidem 1919: 415. PTEROLOCERA was included within the subfamily ANTHELIDAE: ANTHELINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999).
