| Memo: | Nye (1975) stated:- The genus was originally described in the Notodontidae. Fletcher & Nye (1982, Generic Names of Moths of the World) stated:- Stretchia was established in the Notodontidae; it was placed in the Noctuidae by Grote, 1882, New Check List North American Moths: 31. Edwards' paper was published first as a separate and was subsequently reprinted in 1874 April, Proc. Calif. Acad. Sci. 5: 264-267; a footnote on page 264 of the Proceedings stated that the paper was `printed in advance, February 19th, 1874'. Poole (1989) included 6 species in the genus STRETCHIA. |
