| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Phalaena caffraria Stoll, 1790, is a junior primary homonym of Phalaena caffraria Linnaeus, 1767, Syst. Nat. (Edn 12) 1 (2): 865, - Lepid., Geometridae. The objective replacement name is Bunaea caffra Hübner, [1819] 1816, ibidem: 154. It is a form of Phalaena alcinoe Stoll, 1780, in Cramer, ibidem 4: 67, pl.322, figs A, B. See also: Thyella Wallengren, 1858. BUNAEA was included within the subfamily SATURNIIDAE: SATURNIINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999). |
