| Memo: | Calliteara Butler, 1881, was designated as a valid genus and brought out of synonymy by Barlow, 1982, An introduction to the moths of south east Asia, p.221 and also in 1982 by Inoue, Sugi, Kuroko, Moriuti & Kawabe, Moths of Japan. Vol. 2. (Plates and synonymic catalogue) : 330. CALLITEARA was included within the family LYMANTRIIDAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). The genus Elkneria is treated as a synonym of Calliteara in Holloway, 1999 (The Moths of Borneo) (pers. comm. Harri Jalava harri.jalava@fi.flextronics.com) |
