| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior objective synonym of Petelia Herrich-Schüffer, 1855. This genus was originally proposed in the Lithosiidae (now Arctiidae) and is here transferred to the Geometridae. The name does not appear to have been used since its original publication when Herrich-Schüffer stated that it included `2 neuholl. Arten f.534 [Petelia medardaria]'. [Continued from Journal comments]. Nomenclaturally available but without included species until Herrich-Schüffer, [1856], ibidem (Samml. neuer...Schmett.) 1 (1): pl.94.
