Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior homonym of Epicompsa Guest, 1887 - Lepid. Geometridae. Both the generic and specific names were made nomenclaturally available by Guest prior to their proposal and description by Meyrick; E. xanthocrossa Meyrick is founded on a different type-specimen from that of E. xanthocrossa Guest, but the two are subjective synonyms. Epicompsa Guest is thus available as a subjective replacement name. See: EPICOMPSA Guest, 1887. Parsons et al. (1999) included EPICOMPSA Meyrick, 1892 as a junior synonym of EPICOMPSA Guest, 1887.
