Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- Incorrect type-species: Phalaena trifasciata Borkhausen, 1794, a name not originally included in Hydriomena, and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Hulst, 1896, Trans. Am. ent. Soc. 23: 283. Incorrect type-species: Ypsipetes * Implanaria Boisduval (possibly an incorrect subsequent spelling of Cidaria impluviaria Boisduval, 1840, Genera Index meth. eur. Lepid.: 214), a name not originally included in Ypsipetes and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Desmarest, 1849, in d'Orbigny, Dict. univl Hist. nat. 13: 337. Ypsipetes was again proposed by Stephens, 1829 [July], Syst. Cat. Br. Insects (2): 138. Parsons et al. (1999) included HYPSIPETES Agassiz, 1847; HYPSIPETES Swinhoe, 1831; KARACIDARA Matsumura, 1925; PHAESYLE Bruand, 1847; RHODOMENA Warren, 1904; and YPSIPETES Stephens, 1829 as junior synonyms of HYDRIOMENA Hübner, 1825.
