Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) included MACROCIRCA in the family ETHMIIDAE, treated by Hodges, in Kristensen (1999) as a subfamily of ELACHISTIDAE. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Macrocirea was established in the "Hyponomeutidae"; it was included in the Oecophoridae Ethmiinae, now Ethmiidae, by Becker, 1984, Revta bras. Ent. 28: 130, 145.
