Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Polycyma was mentioned by Felder when establishing the genus Holochila, stating that it was a manuscript name which Scott had formerly proposed to publish. As a name published in a synonymy, the name Polycyma Felder is invalid under the provisions of Article II (d) of the Code. Cowan (1970: 30) stated:- GENERIC NAMES INTRODUCED IN SYNONYMY POLYCYMA" Felder, 1862, Verh. zool.-bot. Ges. Wien. 12 : 490. Not available. Introduced (as a ms. name proposed by A. Walker Scott) by Felder in the synonymy of his new genus Holochila. Occasionally mentioned since, but never other than in synonymy. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
