| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Acousmaticus was established in the Psychidae; it was placed in the Argyrotypidae by Hampson, 1898, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 1: 12, footnote; and in the Cossidae by Dalla Torre & Strand, 1937, in Strand, Lepid. Cat. 81: 2. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Acousmaticus was established in the Psychidae; it was included in the Cossidae by Byrk, 1937, in Hering & Bryk, Lepid. Cat. 81 (Cossidae 2): 2.
