Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Setonella was included in the "Incurvariadae" by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 203; it was included in the Tineidae by Davis, 1983, in Hodges et al., Check List Lepid. Am. N. of Mexico: 5. Robinson (2001) included the type-species SETONELLA McDunnough, 1927, buscki McDunnough, 1927, as a junior synonym of brunnea Walsingham, 1881, placed in the genus PHRYGANEOPSIS Walsingham, 1881.
