| Memo: | Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- The type designation by Hampson, 1898, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 1: 399 of Zygaena eriphia Fabricius is invalid as Hampson linked more than one of the originally included species with eriphia in the synonymy of the latter. A junior homonym of Eriphia Latereille, 1817, Nouv. Dictionnaire Hist. nat. (Edn 2) 10: 404, - Crustacea. There is no objective replacement name but A. phemonoe is a junior subjective synonym of Anthichloris Hübner, 1818. The latter is therefore available for use as a subjective replacement name. Eriphia Herrich-Schäffer was placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Generic Names in Zoology: Name No.1721. |
