Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- P. dedalus Cramer, 1775 [December 31] (cited by Hübner as * Daedalus, an incorrect subsequent spelling), is a junior primary homonym of Papilio daedalus Fabricius, 1775 [April 17], Syst. Ent.: 482, under the Code, Article 58(1). The objective replacement name of P. dedalus Cramer is Papilio cyparissias Fabricius, [1777], Genera Insect.: 257. The precise dates of publication of the two 1775 works of Fabricius and Cramer were established by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1958, Opin. Decl. int. Commn zool. Nom. 19 (Opinion 516): 4, 5. EUPALAMIDES was included within the subfamily CASTNIIDAE: CASTNIINAE by Edwards & Nielsen, in Kristensen (1999).
