Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Not nomenclaturally available as a genus-group name. Hübner used Euphais, on all three pages, in a suprageneric sense for one of the names of his tribes (Namen der Stämme) listed on page 33. Hübner listed his genus-group names on page 35. Euphais is included here as Berio, 1957, Memorie Soc. ent. ital. 36:14 has accepted it as an available generic name from 1818 and has designated as type-species, Noctua monilis Fabricius, [1777], the type-species of Hypsoropha Hübner, 1818.
