| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Papilio amyntas [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775, is invalid, as it is a junior homonym of Papilio amyntas Poda, 1761 (Ins. Mus. graec. : 79). The taxon represented by the nominal species Papilio amyntas [Denis & Schiffermüller] is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Papilio argiades Pallas, 1771 (Reise durch verschied. Provinz. Russisch. Reichs 1 : 472). EVERES was included within the subfamily LYCAENIDAE: LYCAENINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999) and in the POLYOMMATINAE by Lamas (2008). |
