Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Fergana was originally placed in the Geometridae. Fletcher (1979) stated:- This genus was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but was subsequently transferred to the Noctuidae, where it was placed by Staudinger, 1901, in Staudinger & Rebel, Cat. Lepid. palaearct. Faunengeb. (Edn 3) 1: 194. Poole (1989) included FERGANA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999). Poole (1989) included 2 species in the genus FERGANA.
