| Memo: | Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- The International Commission, 1986, ibidem: 325, placed Glyphipterix Hübner on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology. See also: * Gliphypteryx Chambers, 1881; * Glyphipterys Christoph, 1882; Glyphipteryx Curtis, 1827; * Glyphiptoryx Mann & Rogenhofer, 1878; Glyphiteryx Fischer von Roslerstamm, 1841; Glyphopteryx Agassiz, 1847; * Glyphiptieryx Turati, 1879; Glyphteryx Watt, 1920; Glyphypteryx Walker, 1864; * Glyphyteryx Hampson, 1918. Glyphipterix Hübner, 1825 was treated as a valid genus and brought out of synonymy by Heppner, 1982, Journal of the New York Entomological Society 89 (4) : 239. The type-species of Glyphipterix Hübner, 1825 was designated as Tinea bergstraesserella Fabricius, 1781, by subsequent designation by Melville 1984, Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 41 (4) : 252. Tinea bergstraesserella Fabricius, 1781 was placed on the Official List of Specific Names and Glyphipterix on the official List of Generic Names in Zoology, Zoological Nomenclature 41 (4) : 252. Glyphipterix Hübner, 1825 is the type-genus for Glyphipterigidae Stainton, 1854. The Glyphipterigidae was proposed for placement on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology by Melville, 1984, Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 41 (4) : 252 and was placed on the Official List of Family-Group Names in Zoology in the Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 43 (4) : 325. GLYPHIPTERIX was included within the subfamily GLYPHIPTERIGIDAE: GLYPHIPTERIGINAE by Dugdale et al., in Kristensen (1999). |
