Memo: Cowan (1970: 36) stated:- "GONOPTERYX" Boisduval & Le Conte, [1833] : 70, n. An Incorrect Subsequent Spelling of Gonepteryx Leach, 1815. This misspelling persisted in use in continental Europe for many years. Hemming cited Schatz, 1886, but neither he nor any other gave evidence of emendation. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
