Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Hampson misidentified Metopoceras codeti Oberthur, 1881, Etudes Ent. 6: 88, pl. 11, fig. 10. Hampson's specimens were of a species undescribed at that time. This is a case of a misidentified type-species which under the Code, Article 70 (a), should be referred to the Commission. Poole (1989) included NUDIFRONS Staudinger, 1897; AMMETOPA Hampson, 1906; CALLOECIA Hampson, 1908; and TRITOMOCERAS Berio, 1980 as junior synonyms of METOPOCERAS Guenée, 1850. Ammetopa Hampson, 1906, was downgraded to denote a subgenus of Metopoceras Guenée, 1850 by Ronkay and Ronkay, 1995, Noctuidae Europaeae, 7 (2) : 109.
