| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Hamadryas Boisduval, as being a junior homonym of Hamadryas Hübner, [1806] is invalid. It has been replaced by the name Tellervo Kirby, 1894. Cowan (1968: 7) stated:- Opinion 789 ruled 65 generic names to be invalid, the following three being of butterfly genera; Hamadryas Boisduval, 1832; Nereis Hübner, 1806; Areas Hübner, 1807. It is noted that Hamadryas Hübner, 1806 still stands. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). |
