| Memo: | Cowan (1970: 36) stated:- HELICONIA Latreille, 1818, Nouv. Dict. Hist. nat. appl. Arts 24 : 509. An Unjustified Emendation of Heliconius Kluk, 1802 or Latreille, 1804. Latreille here stated categorically that he changed the name because most of the included species bore the names of Muses. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). |
