Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- The date of the first publication of Hesperumia is that printed in Packard's own separatum; see Prout, 1912, in Wytsmann, Genera Insect. 129: 114, footnote. The date of the second publication of Hesperumia is taken from Signature no. 3 printed on page 33, dating pages 33-48, not from the title-page of the volume which is dated 1874. Parsons et al. (1999) included ULTRALCIS McDunnough, 1920 as a junior synonym of HESPERUMIA Packard, 1873. Parsons et al. (1999) included 6 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus HESPERUMIA.
