Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- S. smilax was figured by Angas, [1849 December 31], The Kaffirs Illustrated: pl.30, fig.12. According to Waterhouse, 1937, in Duncan, Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. (A) 107: 80, the part containing page 59 of Westwood's paper of 1849 was received by the Society on 20 December. In the absence of evidence of the precise date of publication, the Angas work is dated 31 December in accordance with Article 21(b)(ii) of the Code. Holocerina was established as the objective replacement name for Holocera Felder, 1874.
