Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- This name is proposed in honour of Mr Peter Hurworth, in appreciation of his assistance during the early stages of the compilation of this catalogue. Poole (1989) included HURWORTHIA in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included NIPHOSTICTA Turner, 1936 (preoccupied) as a junior synonym of HURWORTHIA Nye, 1975. Poole (1989) included only 1 species in the genus HURWOR
