Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- The type-species was originally included by Hübner, as '3842. Hylophila Prasinana Linn. Syst. Phal. 285. Fagana et Sylvana Fabr. Ent. Pyr. 5.6. Hübn. Tor. 158.' As with Pseudoips the 158 referred to Hübner, [1799], and the same comments apply here.The type-species having been misidentified, the case should, under the Code, Article 70 (a), be referred to the Commission. Hylophila is a junior objective synonym of Pseudoips Hübner, 1822. See: PSEUDOIPS Hübner, 1822. Poole (1989) included HYLOPHILA Hübner, 1825; CHLOEPHORA Stephens, 1827; HALIAS Treitschke, 1929; and CHLOEPHILA Constantini, 1920 as junior synonyms of PSEUDOIPS Hübner, 1822.
