Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- This name has sometimes been attributed to Minot. This is due, no doubt to the fact that, as stated by Scudder, it was first proposed by Minot in manuscript. Cowan (1970: 49) stated:- INCISALIA type-species to read - Lyons niphon Hübner, [1819], Verz. bek. Schm. (5) : 74, Zutr. s. Samml. exot. Schm. 2 : pl. [36], figs. 203, 204. Hübner's Verzeichniss listed "Lycus niphon, Zuträge 203, 204." As plate [36] of the Zuträge also appeared in [1819], with the unnamed figures 203, 204, the two works mutually validated the binomen Lyons Siphon (see further discussion in List E above, under LICUS). The text referring to the plate, Zuträge 2 : 7, did not itself appear until [1823]. [This replaces the type-species - Licus niphon Hübner, [1823], Zutr. z. Samml. exot. Schmett. 2 : 7, pl. [36], figs 203, 204, (given in Hemming 1967, p.231)]. This name has sometimes been attributed to Minot. This is due, no doubt, to the fact that, as stated by Scudder, it was first proposed by Minot in manuscript, [in Hemming, 1967, p.231.]] The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
