| Memo: | Nye (1975) stated:- Anartodes was attributed to Oberthur by Culot, but no earlier published reference has been found. Anartodes is dated from the wrappers of the part and not the title-page of the volume. M. rangnovi is often cited as *`rangnovi', an incorrect subsequent spelling. Pungeler's latinisation of the personal name Rangnow is permitted under the Code, Article 32 (a). M. rangnovi is a junior subjective synonym of Anarta lamuta Hertz, 1903, Annu. Mus. zool. Acad. imp. Sci. St Pétersb. 8: 82. Anartodes Culot, 1915, is a valid genus, revalidated by Beck, 1996, Systematische Liste der Noctuidae Europas, (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae), Neue Entomologische Nachrichten 36 : 9. Poole (1989) included only 1 species in the genus ANARTODES |
