Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Neave, 1939, Nomencl. zool. 2: 801 cited Itomia Hübner, 1823, as an error for Itonia Hübner, [1823]. Hemming, 1937, Hübner 2:2 14 stated 'The name Itomia has priority over Itonia, which is, however, the spelling intended by Hübner.' Poole (1989) included ITOMIA in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included PSEUDOBENDIS Butler, 1896 as a junior synonym of ITOMIA (as ITONIA on page 847) Hübner, 1823. Poole (1989) included 7 species in the genus ITOMIA.
