| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- The date of publication of the type-species is that of the text of vol.6; the names on plate 81 in vol.3 are non-binominal. The date are taken from the wrappers, not from the title-pages of the volumes, which are dated 1843-1856 (vol.6) and 1847 (vol.3). Kemtrognophos was originally proposed as a subgenus of Gnophos Treitschke, 1825, and was again so proposed by Wehrli, 1953, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 4 (Suppl.): 585, but was misspelt as * Kentrognophos. Parsons et al. (1999) included COSTIGNOPHOS Wehtli, 1951; EUCHROGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; HYPOSCOTIS Hübner, 1825; KEMTROGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; LYCOGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; NEOGNOPHINA Wehrli, 1946; and RHOPALOGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951 as junior synonyms of CHARISSA Curtis, 1826. |
