| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Neave, 1939, Nomencl. zool. 2: 856, correctly attributed Lambessa to Staudinger, but the reference given is to a use of the name by Rothschild in 1912. Neave may have believed that to be the first published use of the name but in fact Lambessa had been used after its original publication, by Tutt, 1902, Nat. Hist. Br. Lepid. 3: 2, 227, who also designated B. staudingeri as type-species. |
