Memo: Ancylophyes was established to denote a subgenus of Ancylis Hübner, [1825] 1816 and is the objective replacement name for the preoccupied name Ancyloides Diakonoff, 1982 (also established to denote a subgenus of Ancylis Hübner, [1825] 1816) by Diakonoff, 1988 Entomologische Berichten 48 (12) : 195. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Unavailable designations of type-species: (1) Pyralis lundana Fabricius, 1777, was cited by Westwood, 1840, Introd. mod. Classif. Insects 2 (Synopsis Genera Br. Insects): 107, as the type-species of Anchylopera Stephens, 1829. Although Westwood placed Ancylis as a synonym of Anchyloptera this does not constitute an available designation of type-species for Ancylis. (2) Pyralis laetana Fabricius, 1775, a nominal species not originally included in Ancylis and not linked in synonymy with one of the originally included nominal species when cited as type-species by Walsingham, 1907, Entomologist's mon. Mag. 43: 151. See also: Anticlea Stephens, 1834; * Philaclea Razowski, 1977; Philalcea Stephens, 1835 ANCYLIS was included within the subfamily TORTRICIDAE: OLETHREUTINAE by Horak, in Kristensen (1999). Listed under ANCYLIS Hubner, [1825] 1816, Verz. bekannter Schmett. 376 in T@RTS: Online World Catalogue of the Tortricidae (Ver. 2.0) by Gilligan, T. M., J. Baixeras, J. W. Brown & K. R. Tuck. 2012.
