Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Lycaena theonus Lucas is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being a subspecies of the taxon represented by the older-established nominal species Papilio cassius Cramer, [1775] Uitl. Kapellen 1 (2) : 36, pl. 23, figs C, D. Leptotes Scudder, 1876, was designated as the type-genus for the new subtribe Leptotiti of Polyommatini, (Lycaenidae), by Hesselbarth, van-Oorschot & Wagener, 1995, Die Tagfalter der Turkei unter Berucksichtigung der angrenzenden Lander. Allgemeiner Teil, spezieller Teil. Band 1, Hesperiidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae, Lycaenidae, p. 541. Leptotes Scudder, 1876 was designated as the type-genus for the new subtribe Leptotiti of Polyommatini, (Lycaenidae), by Hesselbarth, van-Oorschot & Wagener, 1995, Die Tagfalter der Turkei unter Berucksichtigung der angrenzenden Lander. Allgemeiner Teil, spezieller Teil. Band 1, Hesperiidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae, Lycaenidae, p. 541. LEPTOTES was included within the subfamily LYCAENIDAE: LYCAENINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999) and the POLYOMMATINAE by Lamas (2008). Oppler & Warren, 2003. Butterflies of North America 2.
