| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Numerous authors have incorrectly attributed franconica to Esper, 1785, Die Schmett. 3 (20): 139; Esper was not there describing franconica as a new species, but using the name franconica [Denis & Schiffermüller], for which he cited the original reference below the species heading. MALACOSOMA was included within the subfamily LASIOCAMPIDAE: LASIOCAMPINAE by Lemaire & Minet, in Kristensen (1999). |
