| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- This name is invalid by reason of the rejection for nomenclatorial purposes of the Tentamen in which it appeared by the Ruling given by the Commission in its Opinion 97 (1926), Smithson. miscell. Coll. 73 (No. 4) : 19-30 ; republished in facsimile in 1958 (Opin. int. Comm. zool. Nom. 1 (B) : 355-366). By a Ruling given by the Commission in its Opinion 278 (1954), loc. cit. 6 : 135-178 the name Mancipium Hübner, as published in the Tentamen, was placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Generic Names in Zoology as Name No. 84. If the name Mancipium Hübner of the Tentamen had been a nomenclatorially available name, it would nevertheless have been invalid as a junior objective synonym of Pieris Schrank, 1801. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). |
