| Memo: | Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Z. argynnis is a junior subjective synonym of Sphinx hyppaarchus Cramer, 1779, Uitlandsche Kapellen (Papillons exol.) 3: 7, pl.197, fig.C. Marmax was established as the objective replacement name for Glaucopis Fabricius, 1807. Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Z. argynnis is a junior subjective synonym of Sphinx hypparchus Cramer, 1779, the type-species of Pompostola Hübner, [1819]. See also: Pompostola Hübner, [1819]. MARMAX was included within the subfamily THYRIDIDAE: CHARIDEINAE by Dugdale et al., in Kristensen (1999). |
